By Jessica Bair A Volunteers in Medicine health clinic is scheduled to begin
seeing patients on Wednesday in Lebanon,
according to a statement from the organization.
The clinic at 711
S. 8th St. will provide free medical
and dental services to uninsured and underinsured adults living in Lebanon County. The clinic's hours will vary
based on appointments and volunteer availability, the statement said. For eligibility
requirements, click here.
The effort to create the clinic, which was led by local
philanthropist Frank Dixon, began in response to the need for access to care
for more than 10,000 uninsured Lebanon
County residents, the
statement said.
Vermont-based Volunteers in Medicine has eight clinics in Pennsylvania. The Lebanon
facility will be its ninth, and its first in the midstate. The clinic's staff includes
practicing and retired medical professionals and community volunteers.
