The title, awarded by voters in an online contest hosted by Budget Travel, came in the midst of Lititz's annual Fire & Ice festival, a growing event that this year included more than 40 sponsored ice sculptures.
Revelers gathered in Lititz Springs Park with sunglasses Sunday afternoon to celebrate the win, and plans are under way to capitalize on the title, according to postings on the Downtown Lititz Facebook page.
The contest listing for the 9,369-resident town notes Lititz's founding in 1756 as a Moravian community, as well as its visitor-friendly assemblage of retail and restaurant offerings.
Other contenders in the contest included Watkins Glen, N.Y., and Camden, Maine.
