A major focus of the campaign was construction of the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts, which is now open for classes. The center includes a new recital hall, blackbox theater, classroom and office spaces, a recording studio and Parmer Hall, an 825-seat performance venue.
More than 50 new named scholarships were established during the campaign. Campaign monies also were used to meet a National Endowment for the Humanities Challenge Grant, which benefited the Messiah College Center for Public Humanities; to fund a technology-focused, learning commons innovation project in Murray Library; and to support the college’s Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research.
Messiah, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Based in Cumberland County, it has a satellite campus affiliated with Temple University in Philadelphia.
