A $56 million contract the U.S. Department of Defense gave to JLG Industries Inc. to produce access equipment for the Army will not mean additional work at midstate facilities, the company said.

The contract was an add-on to previous orders the department gave JLG to provide All-Terrain Lifter Army Systems, or ATLAS vehicles.

The company this week said the orders mostly will affect its overseas operations and not North America. Fulton County-based JLG has a production facility in Cumberland County. It has sales and service operations around the world, as well as manufacturing in Belgium, China, France and Romania.

JLG is a subsidiary of Wisconsin-based truck manufacturer Oshkosh Corp., which trades its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol OSK.
