The restaurant at 433 N. 21st St. in East Pennsboro Township, near Holy Spirit Hospital, has been open since 2008 and will remain open until at least Feb. 16, Dunphy said in an email to the Business Journal.
Holy Spirit Health System, which owns the property, decided not to renew the Cellar's lease and shortened it to end on March 1, he said.
Not renewing the lease was just a business decision and the health system wouldn't comment beyond that, Holy Spirit spokeswoman Jean Waverka said this morning.
Holy Spirit is renovating a building next to the Cellar's location for the health system's expanded data center.
"At the present time we are possibly looking for a new location to move the restaurant," Dunphy said. "But with the limited notice that we received, we have not been able to identify any locations that would fit with our business profile, but we will continue to investigate any possible sites."
The Cellar Chef Joseph Conrad and General Manager Karen Blazina will be moving over to Dunphy's other restaurant, The Caddy Shack, at Armitage Golf Club on Orr's Bridge Road in Hampden Township, Dunphy said. Other Cellar staff will be offered positions, but The Caddy Shack will not be able to absorb everyone, he said. The Cellar employed about 22 people.
