York Wallcoverings Inc. is renaming its retail outlet known as the Home Design Center and focusing on the wallpaper products it designs and manufactures in York.

The design center will be renamed the York Wallcoverings Factory Store, and it will hold a grand reopening during the week of Oct. 15, the company said.

"The name change emphasizes a shift in strategy to remain true to our brand mission — to provide beautiful and creative environments through wallcoverings," Store Manager Suzanne Jones said in a statement.

Although the store will offer some window treatments, blinds, home décor and gift items, it is discontinuing its furniture sales. The store will continue offering home design services.

During the last several years, York Wallcoverings has found a booming market around the world for its wallpapers and other products, and it has added workers to meet demand.
