The revamped department store totals 83,000 square feet, 30,000 more than before, mall owner Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said Friday in a statement. PREIT also opened a 125,000-square-foot JCPenney in Willow Grove Park in the Philadelphia suburbs.
The Hanover remodeling implemented JCPenney’s new “Shops” layout and included new flooring, lighting and entrances, PREIT said. The location features a 1,700-square-foot Sephora store-within-a-store.
Based in Philadelphia, PREIT owns and operates 38 shopping malls and eight shopping centers, including the Capital City Mall in Cumberland county, Paxton Towne Centre in Dauphin County and Red Rose Commons in Lancaster County.
Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol PEI.
