Presbyterian Senior Living has awarded Benchmark Construction Co. a $20 million contract to construct a new independent-living community in Chester County.

Christened Vista Ridge, the community will be at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford.

The first phase is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2013. It will include a 31-unit independent-living apartment building, community and dining pavilion, and all associated site work and infrastructure to accommodate future phases of apartments and cottages.

The units in the independent-living apartment building will feature a variety of floor plans ranging from 1,073-square-foot one-bedrooms to 1,745-square-foot two-bedrooms, according to a news release from Benchmark. All will have internal access to secured lower-level parking, covered balconies and a geothermal HVAC system.

Architectural Concepts LLP, which designed the project, is based in Exton, and Benchmark is based in West Earl Township, Lancaster County.
