Blue & Gray Gala
Friday: The National Civil War Museum, Harrisburg
CPBJ StaffRetired Army pilot and New York Times-bestselling author Michael J. Durant will be the keynote speaker at this annual charitable event.
Durant was captured and tortured for 11 days after his MH60 Blackhawk was shot down over Somalia in 1993. His tale was made famous through the book and movie “Black Hawn Down.”
Since then, Durant has become a motivational speaker and written two books, “In the Company of Heroes” and “The Night Stalkers.”
The gala will feature Durant’s speech, hors d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner and a silent auction. It benefits The National Civil War Museum.
The event runs 6-10 p.m.
