The 44,000-square-foot hotel is going up on a 2-acre lot along Port View Drive. The township approved the project in December. Site work began last month.
The new hotel is part of the third phase of development in the 102-acre business campus, which is adjacent to the Harrisburg Mall.
The site is being developed by Hampden Township-based TecPort Hospitality LLC.
The developer has secured a loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
U.S. Rep. Tim Holden, who represents Dauphin and Lebanon counties, has been invited to the groundbreaking event, along with officials from USDA Rural Development and Metro Bank.
TecPort Hospitality has taken out a $4.65 million mortgage with Swatara Township-based Metro on the property.
