Orrstown Bank last week named a former PNC Financial Services Group Inc. executive as its chief financial officer.

David Boyle will oversee "the development and maintenance of Orrstown's financial plans, policies, strategic initiatives and financial compliance," the Shippensburg-based bank said in a statement. Boyle will be designated Orrstown's principal financial officer, taking over that duty from assistant secretary and treasurer Philip Fague, spokesman Mark Bayer said.

Boyle, a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania and Ohio, joined Ohio-based Wayne Bancorp Inc. in 1990, rising to become its chairman, president and CEO. National City acquired Wayne in 2004, and PNC acquired National City in 2008.

Boyle's predecessor was Bradley Everly, who resigned from Orrstown in May.
