Cumberland County-based West Shore Window & Door is building a new facility in Lower Allen Township and plans to add about 20 people to its staff during the next year as the company's business grows substantially.

West Shore, currently based in Silver Spring Township, held a ground-breaking ceremony Monday for the 15,000-square-foot facility at 5128 Simpson Ferry Road and expects to move there in early January, said Orlando Cleaves, the company's human resources representative.

Middlesex Township-based Cumberland Design & Building Co. Inc. is constructing the facility.

West Shore also will add about 20 employees in the coming year as its business grows because of a strong market for replacement windows, doors, siding and garage doors generated by replacement work and residential remodeling, Cleaves said.

The company's 2011 revenue was $6.7 million, a 68 percent increase from 2009, according to Business Journal records.

West Shore now employs 28 people full-time in Central Pennsylvania and 70 total including its office in Frederick, Md., Cleaves said. It employs about 20 people part-time in the midstate.
