York County-based RG Group remains aggressive in its growth strategy as the distribution industry continues to consolidate.

The motion control and fluid-handling products distributor and manufacturer on Monday announced the acquisition of Allegheny Fluid Power, a full-service pneumatic and automation distributor that serves western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Allegheny Fluid Power will continue to operate from its Sewickley, Allegheny County, location as a division of RG Group. The deal was completed Aug. 10, RG Group CEO Randall Gross said in a news release.

“We believe this acquisition is a strategic fit because it consolidates our vendor (relationship) with Gast (Manufacturing),” Gross said, referring to the global pneumatic product line.

“This acquisition gives us technical distribution rights to the Gast product line through the entire state of Pennsylvania and into West Virginia,” said Rich Freeh, RG Group’s president and COO.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Last month, RG Group acquired New Jersey-based Eastern Hydraulic Solutions. Earlier this year, the Spring Garden Township company added a branch location in Virginia.

RG Group bought a Lancaster County distributor in the beginning of 2012.
