Homeless vets center opening in Harrisburg

A new veterans center that will shortly be opening in Harrisburg is designed to provide homeless veterans with the tools for independent living and job training.


The Robert M. Jackson Veterans Center Inc., 316 Carlisle St., Harrisburg, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house at 11 a.m. July 26.

The center will provide transitional housing and job training, collaborating with area social service agencies to provide some meals, medical care, counseling and clothing.

Robert M. Jackson is the CEO and founder of the center. Other board members are Latasha Jackson, Kimetta R. Hairston, Kim Dean and Alan Noel.
