Simeral Construction Co. of Manheim Township announced this week that it won the $6.7 million contract for the facility in East Hempfield Township. Totaling approximately 60,000 square feet, it will be located at the former Yellow Freight terminal at 5100 Main St., East Petersburg.

The project architect is Hex 9, which is based in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County. Hex 9 also handled the ABC Lancaster Auto Auction project on the same site; the auction opened in March.

Frank Nolt, vice president of Lancaster County Motors, said construction has already begun, and the facility is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The current Mercedes-Benz building at 1550 Commerce Drive, which is about 18,000 square feet, is up for sale, Nolt said.
