The county added 1,793 housing units, or 0.9 percent, over that 15-month span, pushing its housing stock to 204,747, the bureau said.

Cumberland County ranked fourth with 1,133 additional homes, followed by York County at No. 5 with 1,098. Cumberland came in at No. 2 for the highest percentage of growth at 1.1 percent.

Nationally, Pennsylvania ranked fifth in terms of total housing units with nearly 5.58 million, the bureau said. Twenty-eight counties in the commonwealth saw declines in housing over that period.

Housing unit estimates use building permits, mobile home shipments and estimates of housing unit loss.
