Lebanon Valley College has reached a five-year agreement with a Barnes & Noble Inc. subsidiary to operate its College Store, which has moved to a more prominent location as part of a more than $13 million student center renovation, according to a news release.

The partnership with Barnes & Noble College will begin July 1, the release stated.

The selection came after a team of LVC administrators, faculty and students reviewed proposals from third-party vendors using criteria such as pricing and service policies, comparative technology plans and potential financial returns to the college, according to the release.

New York-based Barnes & Noble Inc. in 2009 completed the acquisition of Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, a transaction that included acquiring the Barnes & Noble trade name, according to the company’s website.

The wholly owned subsidiary operates more than 600 college bookstores on college and university campuses nationwide, according to the website.
