Lylab Technology acquires App-Techs telecom business

The tech companies finalized the deal April 1, but financial terms are not being released, said Keith Miller, Lylab's vice president of marketing and sales. The acquisition includes App-Techs' telecom assets and clients, and gives Lylab a partnership with Panasonic USA's telecom products division.
"It's a modest acquisition but certainly a strategic one," Miller said.
The acquisition will not immediately add staff to Lylab, he said. However, the company regularly considers employment growth and plans to do so in the future, he said. Ten people work for the company now.
In 2010, Lylab acquired Lancaster-based Ryan Telecom Consultants, a move that helped IT-focused Lylab expand into the telecom arena. The move was aimed at consolidating telecom and IT services for customers, similar to ongoing corporate and technology trends in the industry, Miller said.
Lylab Technology was started in 2004. The company moved to Lebanon from Reading in 2006 as it expanded through mergers.
Founded in 2003, App-Techs is a manufacturer, distributor and system integrator of video surveillance, card access and wireless networking systems for businesses and governments.
