The Heritage Medical Group's 12 affiliated medical practices will combine with the practices in PinnacleHealth's FamilyCare network to form PinnacleHealth Medical Group, according to a news release. The combined organization will have 65 physicians and 29 nurse practitioners and physician assistants, the release said.

PinnacleHealth President and CEO Michael Young promised patients a seamless transition.

Heritage Medical Group was founded in 1998 as an independent, physician-owned and physician‑governed alliance of medical practitioners, according to its website. Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth operates Harrisburg Hospital, Community General Hospital and Polyclinic Hospital as well as the Fredricksen Outpatient Center and other facilities.
