A little real estate bedtime story
Jeff Geoghan
It was a book that contained all the secrets of the universe, and only a select few were allowed to view its pages.
It was a book that stayed put on the front desk of every real estate office, and the common people were only allowed to come near it with the guidance of the select few.
But … there was a peasant revolt. A revolution, you might say.
The book’s contents were stolen away from the few and distributed far and wide by inventors of a myriad new ways to read the contents of the book. Everyone had a (virtual) copy in HIS living room now. The select few were sad.
Then, something else happened. With all the inventors hawking their versions to the people, everyone started getting confused. What did all these charts and numbers mean, anyway? All the versions looked different and folks became unsure where to look for the best advice.
So … the few who had once held so much power with the “book” now came back as trusted advisers, not because of the information they possessed but because of the wisdom they possessed. Then again, I suppose they were never really gone…
And everyone lived happily every after.
