The Strawberry Square location is the company's seventh office nationwide and first in Pennsylvania. It has four offices in California and two others in Phoenix and Washington, D.C.

Vector Resources primarily serves markets that include K-12 education, health care, medium and enterprise business, transportation and government markets.

"We have identified significant growth opportunities serving mid-sized cities, such as the Harrisburg area, where there is a concentration of business, education and government organizations," said Robert Messinger, the company's executive vice president of sales and operations.

Company officials said they anticipate hiring local talent from the university, which trains students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields, also known as STEM.

The location also gives Vector Resources exposure to local business and government leaders, said Curtis Paradzick, the company's vice president of sales.

Vector Resources employs about 400 people nationwide. Christina Yang, a company spokeswoman, said she could not say how many would be working in Harrisburg.
