Stauffers of Kissel Hill to open Lebanon store

By Holly White

A Lancaster County-based grocer and garden center will open its ninth location in Lebanon County, a spokeswoman said.

SKH Management Co., which does business as Stauffers of Kissel Hill, plans to open a garden center at 1800 Cornwall Road in North Cornwall Township.

The 15,500-square-foot store will open March 12 and has hired 10 employees, spokeswoman Debi Drescher said.

There's also about a half an acre of outdoor retail space on the property, she said.

Stauffers will operate with a multi-year lease on property owned by Stony Bridge Landscaping Inc., which will continue its business in the same building, Drescher said.

"We had a lot of customers that came from the Lebanon area down to our stores and were familiar with us," she said. "We think it's a great opportunity to expand into the market."

The Lebanon County location will offer plants, bird products, lawn care items and garden decorations, she said. It will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, with extended Saturday hours for six weeks beginning April 28.

Stauffers has one store in Cumberland County, two in Dauphin County, three in Lancaster County and two in York County.

The Warwick Township-based business traces its roots to 1932 with a fruit stand in Lancaster County, and today employs more than 1,000 people.
