PennDOT names new District 8 executive

By Jason Scott

The state Department of Transportation has named Michael Keiser as the new district executive for PennDOT Engineering District 8, which covers Central Pennsylvania.

Keiser succeeds acting district executive Stephen Grimme. The Dauphin County resident has nearly 26 years of PennDOT experience and spent nearly 24 years in District 8 before taking an appointment as assistant district executive for design in the Allentown-based District 5 office, according to a department news release.

The district executive for the local district is in charge of a team of more than 1,100 employees who are responsible for design, construction and maintenance of all state-owned roads and bridges in the eight-county region.

District 8 is the largest of PennDOT's 11 engineering districts with more than 3,400 bridges and nearly 5,240 miles of highway.
