Make it a H-app-y New Year for your business

By Harry Martin

In today's fast-paced business world, professionals rely on convenient mobile applications to stay connected and efficient on-the-go.

According to the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, 78 percent of small business owners said their company's use of mobile apps saves them time, and nearly half of the respondents said by leveraging mobile apps, they have been able to spend more time on growing business revenues.

If you are looking to further enhance your business productivity in the New Year, here are a few noteworthy business apps that can help you achieve that goal:

  • Expensify: Rated as one of the best business apps by CNN Money, Expensify helps ease the pain of tracking expenses while on the road. The app syncs with your credit card and bank accounts to track purchases, and can even turn your device into a receipt scanner to match account expenses.
  • Pulse: To better keep your finger on the pulse and stay up to date on the latest industry news, check out the Pulse app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. A great way to manage dozens of categories, including industry blogs and traditional media outlets. It incorporates colorful panning story bars with content from your selected sources.
  • ASTRO File Manager: Can't find a file on your phone? The free ASTRO File Manager app gives Android users a folder view of apps and files to make searching easier and allows you to edit and bookmark folders for quick access. In addition, it allows you to move apps to your SD card that helps improve the device's performance.
  • Dropbox: Doing work from your phone, tablet and computer throughout the day? The free Dropbox app ensures all of your hard work is easily accessible. After you install Dropbox on your computer, any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your devices.
  • Google Docs: Whether you need to edit a spreadsheet or convert photos to text, the Google Docs app allows users to share updated information with collaborators in seconds. And, for Android users, you can even print updates on the go using Google Cloud Print.

To learn more about these and other business apps, I recommend visiting Chomp.com, where you can easily search for apps by device and topic category.
