Two midstate banks recently reported second-quarter earnings.

Fulton Financial Corp. of Lancaster reported earnings of $26.6 million, or 14 cents per diluted share, up 230 percent compared with $8 million, or 5 cents per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2009.

Analysts had expected earnings of 15 cents per diluted share, according to Yahoo Finance.

Fulton is the parent company of Fulton Bank and others. Its shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol FULT.

Orrstown Financial Services Inc., the Cumberland County parent of Orrstown Bank, reported earnings of $3.9 million, or 47 cents per diluted share, up 13 percent compared with $3.45 million, or 51 cents per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2009.

Yahoo Financial reported one analyst expected income of 42 cents per diluted share.

Orrstown is based in Shippensburg. Its shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ORRF.
