A York County philanthropic group is offering grants of up to $12,500 for area nonprofits looking to bolster arts and culture in the White Rose city.
The York County Community Foundation began YorIt, an initiative aimed at cultivating a new, younger generation of philanthropists by introducing them to "old-guard" philanthropists and to each other.

The group chooses a theme for its grant-making process each year, and has chosen for 2010 to target one-time arts and culture initiatives in the downtown.
Applications, which are available at www.yorit.org/svf.asp, are due April 16. For more information, contact Jane Conover at jconover@yccf.org or 848-3733.
