Inequality: The Enemy Between Us?

Dickinson will host a discussion on the effects of income inequality in the U.S. and the world on Thursday, March 28, at 12 p.m. in the Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts, 240 West High Street. The event, titled “Inequality: The Enemy Between Us?” is free and open to the public.
Educator and author Richard Wilkinson will address the income gap between the highest and lowest income earners in the U.S. and its contributions to a wide range of health problems and social ills. Wilkinson is professor emeritus of social epidemiology at The University of Nottingham Medical School; honorary professor at University College London; and a visiting professor at the University of York. He is the coauthor of “The Spirit Level,” which won the 2011 Political Studies Association Publication of the Year Award and the 2010 Bristol Festival Ideas Prize. Wilkinson also cofounded The Equality Trust, an organization dedicated to reducing income inequality in order to improve the quality of life in the U.K.
