February 24 lecture:
“York: Riots and Rebirth”
Speaker: Dr. Peter Levy
Chair of the Department of History & Political Science at York College of Pennsylvania
Dr. Levy received his PhD from Columbia University in 1986 and became an assistant professor at York College in 1989. He is currently chair of the history and political science department.
Dr. Levy will provide a foundation for understanding the riots of 1969 and reactions since then. He will include a discussion of a similar initiative sponsored by the University of Baltimore and put out a call for continuing dialogue on these themes.
Lecture is free and open to the public and scheduled to begin at 2 PM. In addition to the lecture, we will provide light refreshments and auxiliary exhibits related to the lectures. Child care will be available.
